An award-winning charity that is very highly regarded in the sector, we exist because disabled people are still marginalised and excluded. Particularly in light of the impact of coronavirus, tackling this is more urgent than ever.

Application Deadline: 3rd January 2021

Time Commitment: 2021 year, 4-6 hours a week

Prior Experience Desirable: To apply for a #SOW Team role you must be able to demonstrate some relevant skills and experience, for example a previous committee or leadership position


Pledge-maker Coordinator

As part of the #ShareOneWorld project, children anywhere can make a pledge to improve inclusion and attitudes towards disability within their school or local area. A Pledge-maker coordinator will introduce pledge-making to schools and local centres and make sure pledge-makers are supported in following through with their projects.

This includes:

  • Presenting project ideas to local schools and clubs and helping children choose a project to work on

  • Lending a helping hand in developing projects and ensuring they have an impact in the community

  • Increasing inclusion awareness and keeping track of pledge-makers’ projects through the social media groups

You can expect to develop skills in: leadership, communication and teamwork.


Fundraising Officer

You will oversee and try to increase fundraising for the #ShareOneWorld project, with focus on creating and sustaining corporate fundraising partnerships.

The Fundraising Officer’s responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and establishing potential fundraising partnerships

  • Managing fundraising projects for #ShareOneWorld by monitoring and maintaining funding streams, particularly with corporations

You may develop skills in: problem-solving, organisational skills and teamwork.
