Meet our Young Leaders Ella and Joanne and see why they love the Young Leaders Programme!

Ella and Joanne decided to start volunteering as they thought it was ‘an exciting opportunity to meet new people, take part in fun activities, and develop and improve skills such as communication, leadership and organisation’. They’d also highly recommend it if you’re looking for a bit of fun after a long school day!

The energy and enthusiasm Ella and Joanne brought allowed the participants’ imagination to blossom, and showed how fun the sessions are. ‘Creativity and innovation’ are everywhere at KEEN, and so one of the exciting aspects was seeing how unique and special the pieces of art were, even when given the same task.

One of the best aspects about the Young Leaders Programme is how everybody at Keen is ‘extremely welcoming and encouraging’- it is a fabulous opportunity to interact with different people. KEEN ‘promotes inclusion and values everyone having fun together’, which Ella and Joanne strongly believe in, as ‘no one should feel isolated and everybody should be given equal opportunities’.

It gives everyone an equal chance to make new friends, and directly allows you to make a better, more compassionate society.
